Modern fuel injectors have very little servicable parts. After performing a few simple electronic checks you can rebuild/service your fuel injectors with only a few simple tools.
This simple injector rebuilding process will insure your injectors are not clogged and fully operational.
Video of the fuel injector cleaning process below:
Using a small brush (old tooth brush will work) carefully clean the exterior of the fuel injector. CAUTION! Stay away from the business end. Use some carb and choke cleaner or other spray cleaner.
Using a multimeter set to ohms measure the reading across your injector plugs.
Remove the screen filter from the injector and o-rings from each end.
If injector has basket style filter, seen below, use injector basket filter removal tool, to remove the basket filter safely.
Test the ohm readings on the injector coil. Then test that the fuel injector is opening correctly.
Fuel injectors are basically a coil of wire which should measure a specific amount of ohms. Using a ohm meter test the ohms on your injector and record it on a worksheet for later reference. (TODO: PUT ON GOOGLE DOCS) Fuel Injector Worksheet
What ohm should your fuel injectors read. Every fuel injector is different. Search google for the manufacturer of your injectors and start their if specifications are unknown. Also below are a couple sources for fuel injector ohm specifications.
Using a syringe and clear tube force cleaning fluid through the injector while opening it.
Use an ultra-sonic jewery cleaner to remove dirt from the business end of the injector.
An ultra-sonic cleaner uses vibrations to loosen the debri from the metal without touching it. It is important to hang the injector as the weight of it will impead the vibrations.
It is very important to flush any loose debries from the inside of the injector. This "Reverse Flush" will insure the debries come out the large end.
Lube the filters with green greese and be carefull not to tear them.
